Who is Anne Margrethe?

Anne Margrethe Lund is a singer and songwriter with a particularly expressive voice and a very special talent. Through her message and her unique personal history, she shares with us the deep joy and the unusual strength she can maintain through all kinds of circumstances. With her gentle voice she dares us to set out on our own journey of discovery to find ways to achieve motivation, to cope with new challenges, and to share ourselves with others. The songs move us because she so generously inspires us to meet hardship with the will we gradually realise that we also possess.
  
Anne Margrethe is blind and has had to cope with a serious cancer condition over time – all of which makes her life-celebrating message an intense experience. She was born in Norway in 1969 and has been writing songs and lyrics since she was ten years old – in both English and Norwegian. After five years of vocal studies at the Norwegian State Academy of Music, her experience ranges from performing classical works to singing her own songs, which are a blend of jazz, pop and folk music.
     
“Sometimes, in my darkest moments, I feel a deep joy grow inside me and the idea for a song suddenly develops. It can start with one simple sentence and a melody line that come into my head out of the blue! Then all I have to do is to unravel the rest of the song. It‘s just as exciting as taking layer after layer of paper off a well-packed present,” she tells us. As she sings with conviction on the CD “The songs make me feel I am   rooted, all through a deep despair...”  
    
In 2006 she started an organization with the intention of inspiring and motivating people to find the wells of life and joy, even when they face hardship. She offers her songs and holds musical lectures, concerts and workshops to enterprises as well as to individuals. In these musical lectures Anne Margrethe reflects on themes that are significant for every human being: the importance of hope, sources of life strength, and the value of trust.
