Students of the ESUA:
"The knowledge we acquired during the workshop seems enormous to us. It has been a unique experience to participate in such a big scale (and real) project." "The experience of the last five workshops has determined the way I see my education, the profession, the craft, the human values that are connected with skills and life…" "For me the ESUA project has been the most exceptional experience of my architectural education." Dr. Charles C. Bohl, ESUA External Evaluator: "The scope and pace of the ESUA project has been impressive: the completion of a research phase, the development of five test modules and conduct of five workshops in four different nations involving dozens of academics, practitioners and students in the course of two years is extraordinary. The ESUA team has proven itself extremely capable of moving rapidly from concept to reality." Read the full evaluation report here

Declaration from a conference held in Viseu, Portugal, 4 - 9
May 2004:
The Teaching of Architecture and Urbanism in the Age
of Globalisation
The Viseu meeting on the Teaching of Architecture and Urbanism
in the Age of Globalisation, organised by Council for European
Urbanism and INTBAU, provided participants with many positive
ideas for improvements to teaching and learning across Europe. The Viseu Declaration on Architectural Education in the 21st
Century sums up these thoughts and ideas.
The conference and Declaration are both extremely hopeful signs
that architectural and urbanist education can contribute
positively to making humane cities.
